How to export your Character.AI chats
On the website
- Sign in and open your Profile.
- Click Profile Settings.
- Go to Account, then Manage Account & Data.
- Choose Export data and confirm.
In the mobile app
- Open your Profile.
- Tap the settings icon.
- Choose Export my data (it may sit under Legal & Privacy).
- Watch your registered email, including spam, for the download link.
What to save by hand while you wait
- The full definition of every character you made: greeting, description and example dialogue.
- Pinned memories and anything you want to reread: open the chat in a desktop browser and use Print, then Save as PDF.
- Do not delete your account until the export has arrived and you have downloaded it; deletion cannot be undone.
